TCCP Takes Control of 2 Leeds City Centre Car Parks

The management of the Edward Street and Templar Street car parks in central Leeds has been taken over by Town Centre Car Parks from NCP.

Town Centre Car Parks (TCCP) is a division of Town Centre Securities PLC, the Leeds-based property investment and development company and the owners of the Merrion Centre.

This move will enable TCCP to manage the car parks in conjunction with London-based development company Hammerson and to introduce a series of innovative pricing and parking-friendly measures.

Ben Ziff, the managing director of TCCP, commented: “Together the capacity of the Edward Street and Templar Street car parks is 520 spaces and they form a very popular site for city centre parking in Leeds, just off the Headrow.  Our aim is to enhance the car parks and make them more flexible to reflect the needs of commuters and shoppers.

“We are determined to create quality, good-value car parks, by replacing the old-fashioned pay-and-display machines with a modern ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) system. This enables drivers to pay on arrival or departure, whichever is easier, and to extend their stay without any hassle.

“We are also planning a parking feature which is unique in Leeds, namely the ability to pay on-line up to 24 hours after departure. That will make it so much easier and flexible for drivers who haven’t got the right amount of cash with them", said Ben.

This new management role strengthens TCCP’s position in the car parking sector in Leeds. The company already owns and manages the Merrion Centre, Clarence Dock and Whitehall Riverside car parks in the city.

We have a full understanding of the car park business and are able to deliver and manage first-class car parks which provide value and comfort for everyone.
