Office space available in Manchester’s oldest warehouse

Leeds based property investment and development company , Town Centre Securities (TCS), has released  two office suites in the oldest surviving warehouse in Manchester city centre, Carvers Warehouse.

Located on Dale Street in Piccadilly Basin, the suites (1,181 sq ft and 1,494 sq ft ) offer modern amenities, yet tenants can enjoy the characterful surroundings the warehouse conversion brings.  The building had virtually all of its original timber and cast iron structure remaining when restoration began, which was retained along with the existing external walls that had been built almost completely from stone.

The Grade II* listed building, dating back to 1806, has a full height glazed atrium-style entrance, secure 24 hour access and shower facilities. On-site car and cycle parking is available and the development also has a café deli on the ground floor serving hot and cold food called An Outlet.

TCS completed the 22,000 sq ft Carvers Warehouse in 2008 after two years of careful restoration and it is now home to a variety of companies including Marketing Manchester, Martin Stockley Associates, Four23, Harris Partnership, BWB Consulting and G-Star Raw.

In addition, a self-contained office unit in the adjacent house, known as 75 Dale Street, has also become available. The 1, 350 sq ft property, which was the former headquarters of the Rochdale Canal Company, has office accommodation over two floors.  The building still has the original staircase, feature fireplaces and wooden floors.   It also has modern kitchen and shower facilities.

Richard Lewis, Property Director at Town Centre Securities said:

”This is a unique opportunity for smaller companies to relocate to high quality office space, minutes from both Piccadilly Station and the Northern Quarter. We’re extremely proud of the Carvers Warehouse conversion.  We went to great lengths to sensitively restore the warehouse. We wanted to keep the natural character and quirks of the building.  Two years on, I believe our efforts have paid off.  Our tenants tell us they love it.  It remains our flagship scheme in this part of the Piccadilly Basin.”

“The 75 Dale Street office offers quirky office space in a quiet, yet central location. We anticipate a lot of interest in this property. It’s not often you find self-contained office accommodation with so much character in the city centre.”

Lambert Smith Hampton (0161 242 7077) and Daniel Harris & Co (0161 237 9393) are the letting agents appointed to act on behalf of TCS for these two buildings.
